I recognize that making a piece of river is a difficult task. Hardscape and plants seems to be put aside without trying to make them work together. The scape seems completely flat : you should try to work the perspective that would make the layout a little more attractive. The cryptos are placed too near from the front glass what makes the layout very difficult to maintain over a long time. I must admit that I'm a little bit disturbed by the way you mixed fishes : P. cardinalis and xyphos have very different needs for water quality and P. scalare in such a small tank is usually not advised at all. Try again and I'm sure that your next layout will be better.
